Excellent summary. I’ve been working in China robotics for 14 years. Rarely that I find an article where I don’t find something to complain. This is really spot on.

Awesome analysis, dynamics in the humanoid space is more or less similar everywhere, in China it’s just exaggerated, because it’s a strategic direction for the country. Same as with EVs, solar panels and wind generators - most companies will not survive the race, but they will failures will contribute to creating a nationwide ecosystem with strong global competitiveness

Brilliant breakdown of the data collection gamble these companies are taking. The inverted strategy of deploying flawed hardware at scale instead of perfecting it first mirrors what I saw in teh early cloud computing days when AWS scaled before achieving enterprise-grade reliability. The $42k economics threshold is where theory meets factory floor reality, and most current platforms cant bridge that gap. Wonder if the 80% failure prediction will come true faster than folks expect.
